The currency of Terra Novus is 'Uriles', short for 'Uranium Micro-Fissiles', small units containing fast-breeding nuclear reactor fuel. After the fall, it became much more important to power equipment, and as such this tiny miracles of energy have become brilliantly valuable.
Setting aside the in-story elements, this is the guide to Uriles. In character creation, you spend up to 100 Uriles on equipment, but may not keep any after creation. At the conclusion of a thread, you have to ask a staffer to grade it and state how many Uriles you gained, as well as items obtained and XP gained. The staffer will edit your Urile count, which you can then spend on equipment-just tell a staffer what it is you want to purchase, and they'll edit your character sheet and Urile count.
Every week, depending on the food grade you specified in your character sheet, you will lose a certain number of Uriles. If you don't have enough Uriles at the end of a week to purchase your chosen type of food, you'd better be ready to start roleplaying hunger or to choose a lower grade food!
Please note that any Tribals will have zero Uriles-however, they can live off the land and should make threads in which they hunt or steal food in order to obtain it for free. ( Click here to see Food Guide)
